Project Abstract
Inventory management and control play a critical role in the operational and financial performance of manufacturing companies. This study aims to investigate the impact of inventory management and control systems on the performance of a manufacturing company in Nigeria, focusing on Siba Water Company in Ikot Ekpene, Akwa Ibom State. The research will explore how effective inventory management practices can enhance operational efficiency, reduce costs, and improve overall performance within the company. The research methodology will involve a combination of qualitative and quantitative approaches to gather data and analyze the relationship between inventory management practices and company performance. Primary data will be collected through surveys, interviews, and observations within Siba Water Company, while secondary data will be sourced from relevant literature, reports, and publications on inventory management in the manufacturing sector. Key performance indicators such as inventory turnover ratio, stock-out rates, carrying costs, and order fulfillment times will be analyzed to assess the effectiveness of the inventory management system at Siba Water Company. The study will also examine the challenges faced by the company in managing its inventory and propose recommendations for improvement. The findings of this research are expected to provide valuable insights into the importance of implementing efficient inventory management and control systems in manufacturing companies, particularly in the context of a developing economy like Nigeria. By identifying best practices and strategies for optimizing inventory management, the study aims to offer practical recommendations that can help Siba Water Company and similar organizations enhance their performance and competitiveness in the market. Ultimately, this research contributes to the existing literature on inventory management and its impact on company performance, especially in the Nigerian manufacturing sector. The study is significant as it addresses a specific company in a particular region, allowing for detailed insights and recommendations tailored to the unique challenges and opportunities faced by Siba Water Company in Ikot Ekpene, Akwa Ibom State.
