Enhancing Information Literacy Skills Among Library Science Students through Interactive Online Modules

Project Abstract

This research project aims to investigate and enhance information literacy skills among Library Science students through the implementation of interactive online modules. With the rapid advancements in technology and the increasing reliance on digital resources, the need for individuals to possess strong information literacy skills has become more critical than ever. Library Science students, in particular, play a vital role in managing and providing access to information in various settings, making it essential for them to develop proficient information literacy competencies. The study will begin with an exploration of the current state of information literacy among Library Science students, highlighting any existing gaps or challenges in their skill development. Through a comprehensive literature review, key concepts related to information literacy, online learning, and interactive module design will be examined to provide a theoretical framework for the study. The research methodology will involve the design and implementation of interactive online modules specifically tailored to enhance information literacy skills among Library Science students. The effectiveness of these modules will be evaluated through a combination of quantitative and qualitative research methods, including pre- and post-module assessments, surveys, and focus group discussions. The findings of the study will be presented in Chapter Four, where a detailed analysis of the data collected will be provided. This chapter will explore the impact of the interactive online modules on the information literacy skills of Library Science students and identify any factors that may have influenced their learning outcomes.
