Project Abstract

This research project aimed to conduct a cost and time study of library programs, services, and collections at our library to better understand resource allocation and efficiency. The methodology involved tracking staff time spent on various tasks, documenting expenses related to programs and services, and analyzing usage data for the library collections. The study was conducted over a six-month period, during which time data was collected and analyzed. Staff members were asked to log their time spent on different activities, such as reference services, collection development, and program planning. Additionally, expenses related to programs, such as guest speakers or materials, were carefully documented. The outcomes of the study provided valuable insights into the cost-effectiveness of different library programs and services.
