Project Abstract

Climate change poses a significant threat to global food security and sustainable livelihoods, particularly in rural communities that rely heavily on agriculture for their sustenance. This research project aims to analyze the impact of climate change on household food security and sustainable livelihoods in rural communities, with a focus on understanding the challenges faced and exploring potential solutions to mitigate the adverse effects. Through a comprehensive literature review, this study examines the existing knowledge on the relationship between climate change, food security, and livelihood sustainability, highlighting the key factors contributing to vulnerability in rural areas. The research methodology involves a mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative data collection through surveys and qualitative data analysis through interviews and focus group discussions. The study will be conducted in several rural communities selected based on their susceptibility to climate change impacts, with a sample size representing a diverse range of socio-economic backgrounds.
