Project Abstract

It examines the resource usage, emissions, waste generation and other environmental effects of recreational activities from individual and participatory sports to spectator events. The impacts of equipment, facilities and infrastructure, travel, and other supporting industries and services are considered. By comparing the lifecycle assessments of various recreational options, this project aims to identify more sustainable choices and areas for improved practices, policies and innovation to lessen environmental impacts while enhancing recreational opportunities.<br><br><br></p>
