Exploring the Use of Stem Cell Therapy in Treating Osteoarthritis in Dogs

Project Abstract

Osteoarthritis is a common degenerative joint disease affecting dogs, leading to pain, stiffness, and reduced mobility. Current treatment options for osteoarthritis in dogs are limited in their ability to provide long-term relief and often come with side effects. Stem cell therapy has emerged as a promising alternative for treating osteoarthritis by promoting tissue repair and regeneration. This research project aims to explore the use of stem cell therapy in treating osteoarthritis in dogs. The study begins with a comprehensive literature review to examine the existing knowledge and research on stem cell therapy for osteoarthritis in dogs. Various aspects such as the mechanism of action of stem cells, different types of stem cells used, and the outcomes of previous studies will be reviewed to provide a solid foundation for the research. In the research methodology section, the study design, selection criteria for participants, stem cell administration protocol, and outcome measures will be detailed.
