The rapid growth of online learning has transformed the educational landscape, providing students with flexible and convenient access to educational resources. However, the effectiveness of online learning environments in enhancing student performance remains a topic of debate. This research aims to analyze the factors that influence student performance in online learning environments. The study will investigate various variables such as student characteristics, course design, instructor feedback, and technological factors to understand their impact on student outcomes. Chapter One provides an introduction to the research topic, including the background of the study, problem statement, objectives, limitations, scope, significance, structure of the research, and definitions of key terms. Chapter Two presents a comprehensive literature review that synthesizes existing research on the factors affecting student performance in online learning environments, examining ten key areas of interest. Chapter Three outlines the research methodology, detailing the research design, sampling techniques, data collection methods, and data analysis procedures. The chapter also discusses ethical considerations and limitations of the research process. Chapter Four presents the findings of the study, analyzing the data collected and discussing the implications of the results on student performance in online learning environments. The discussion of findings in Chapter Four explores seven key themes that emerged from the analysis, providing insights into the factors that significantly impact student performance in online learning environments.
