An investigation into factors responsible for down-turn in male students enrollment

Project Abstract

The decline in male student enrollment in educational institutions has been a growing concern in recent years. This research project aims to investigate the factors that are responsible for this downturn in male students' enrollment. The study will focus on exploring various potential factors that may contribute to the lower enrollment rates of male students compared to female students. The research will utilize a mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative data analysis with qualitative interviews and surveys to gather comprehensive insights into the issue. Quantitative data will be collected from educational institutions regarding the enrollment numbers of male and female students over the past decade. This data will be analyzed to identify trends and patterns in male student enrollment and to determine if there has been a significant decline in recent years. In addition to quantitative analysis, qualitative interviews will be conducted with male students, female students, teachers, and educational administrators to gather perspectives on the factors that may be influencing male student enrollment. The interviews will focus on exploring potential factors such as societal expectations, gender stereotypes, academic performance, extracurricular activities, and career aspirations. Surveys will also be distributed to a larger sample of students to gather more insights into their experiences and perceptions regarding male student enrollment.
