This research project focuses on the origin and development of co-operative societies in Nigeria, with a specific case study of the IMT Multipurpose Co-operative Society in Enugu. The study aims to explore the historical background of co-operative societies in Nigeria, tracing their evolution from traditional communal practices to formalized structures. Using a case study approach, the research examines the establishment and growth of the IMT Multipurpose Co-operative Society, highlighting its key milestones, challenges, and successes.
