Project Abstract
Stroke is a leading cause of long-term disability worldwide, often resulting in impairments in balance and gait. Traditional rehabilitation methods have been effective to some extent, but there is a growing interest in exploring innovative approaches such as virtual reality (VR) rehabilitation. This study aims to investigate the effects of VR rehabilitation on balance and gait in stroke patients through a randomized controlled trial (RCT). The research will be conducted with a sample of stroke patients who have experienced balance and gait impairments. Participants will be randomly assigned to either the experimental group, receiving VR rehabilitation, or the control group, receiving traditional rehabilitation methods. The intervention will be administered over a specified period, and the outcomes will be assessed at baseline, post-intervention, and follow-up intervals. Chapter One Introduction

The findings from this RCT will provide valuable insights into the potential benefits and limitations of incorporating VR technology into stroke rehabilitation programs. Ultimately, the results of this research have the potential to inform clinical practice and enhance the quality of care for individuals recovering from stroke-related impairments.
Project Overview
The project aims to investigate the impact of virtual reality (VR) rehabilitation on improving balance and gait in stroke patients through a randomized controlled trial. Stroke is a leading cause of long-term disability worldwide, often resulting in impaired balance and gait function. Traditional rehabilitation techniques have shown effectiveness in stroke recovery, but there is a growing interest in utilizing VR technology as a novel approach to enhance rehabilitation outcomes.
Virtual reality offers an immersive and interactive environment that can simulate real-life scenarios and provide engaging therapy sessions for stroke patients. By incorporating VR exercises specifically designed to target balance and gait impairments, this study seeks to evaluate the effectiveness of VR rehabilitation compared to conventional therapy methods.
The randomized controlled trial design will involve participants who have experienced a stroke and are undergoing rehabilitation. The intervention group will receive VR-based exercises focused on balance and gait training, while the control group will undergo standard rehabilitation programs. Various outcome measures, such as balance assessments, gait analysis, and functional mobility tests, will be used to evaluate the impact of VR rehabilitation on improving balance and gait parameters in stroke patients.
Through this research, we aim to contribute to the growing body of evidence on the use of VR technology in rehabilitation and its potential benefits for stroke patients. By elucidating the effects of VR rehabilitation on balance and gait outcomes, this study may provide valuable insights into optimizing stroke rehabilitation strategies and improving the quality of life for individuals recovering from stroke.
