Project Abstract

Introduction Tele-rehabilitation has emerged as a promising alternative to in-person physiotherapy for patients with chronic musculoskeletal conditions. This study aims to investigate the effectiveness of tele-rehabilitation on functional outcomes in patients with chronic musculoskeletal conditions through a randomized controlled trial. Methods A randomized controlled trial will be conducted with patients diagnosed with chronic musculoskeletal conditions who will be randomly assigned to either the tele-rehabilitation group or the traditional in-person physiotherapy group. Functional outcomes, including pain levels, range of motion, muscle strength, and quality of life, will be assessed at baseline, during the intervention, and at follow-up. Results The results of this study will provide insights into the effectiveness of tele-rehabilitation in improving functional outcomes in patients with chronic musculoskeletal conditions compared to traditional in-person physiotherapy. It is hypothesized that tele-rehabilitation will be non-inferior to in-person physiotherapy in improving functional outcomes. Conclusion The findings of this study will contribute to the growing body of evidence on the effectiveness of tele-rehabilitation in physiotherapy practice. Understanding the potential benefits of tele-rehabilitation in improving functional outcomes for patients with chronic musculoskeletal conditions can inform future clinical practice and healthcare policies aimed at optimizing patient care and outcomes. Keywords Tele-rehabilitation, chronic musculoskeletal conditions, functional outcomes, physiotherapy, randomized controlled trial.
