The Effectiveness of Tele-rehabilitation in Improving Functional Outcomes for Patients with Stroke

Project Abstract

**** Stroke is a leading cause of long-term disability worldwide, often resulting in significant physical impairments that require extensive rehabilitation to optimize functional outcomes. Tele-rehabilitation has emerged as a promising approach to delivering rehabilitation services remotely, allowing patients to receive care in their own homes while maintaining regular contact with healthcare providers. This research aims to investigate the effectiveness of tele-rehabilitation in improving functional outcomes for patients with stroke. The study will begin with a comprehensive review of the existing literature on tele-rehabilitation and its application in stroke rehabilitation. This literature review will explore the various technologies and interventions used in tele-rehabilitation, as well as the reported outcomes and effectiveness in improving functional outcomes for stroke patients. The research methodology will involve a mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative assessments of functional outcomes such as mobility, upper limb function, and activities of daily living, with qualitative feedback from both patients and healthcare providers. The study will include a sample of stroke patients undergoing tele-rehabilitation, with data collected over a specified period to track changes in functional outcomes and assess the overall impact of the intervention. The findings of the study will be discussed in detail, highlighting the effectiveness of tele-rehabilitation in improving functional outcomes for patients with stroke. The results will be compared with traditional in-person rehabilitation approaches to evaluate the relative benefits and limitations of tele-rehabilitation. In conclusion, this research aims to contribute to the growing body of evidence supporting the use of tele-rehabilitation as a viable and effective alternative for delivering rehabilitation services to stroke patients. By highlighting the potential benefits of tele-rehabilitation in improving functional outcomes and enhancing patient access to care, this study seeks to inform future practice and policy decisions in stroke rehabilitation.
