The Impact of Telehealth Services on Patient Outcomes in Home Care Settings: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis

Telehealth services have emerged as a promising approach to improving patient outcomes in home care settings. This systematic review and meta-analysis aim to investigate the impact of telehealth services on patient outcomes in home care settings. The review synthesizes existing literature to provide a comprehensive understanding of the effectiveness of telehealth interventions in improving patient outcomes such as health status, quality of life, and healthcare utilization. The review also explores the factors influencing the implementation and adoption of telehealth services in home care settings. The review will include studies published in peer-reviewed journals from the past decade that evaluate the impact of telehealth services on patient outcomes in home care settings. A systematic search will be conducted in electronic databases such as PubMed, CINAHL, and Scopus using relevant keywords related to telehealth, home care, and patient outcomes. Studies that meet the inclusion criteria will be screened, and data will be extracted for analysis. The meta-analysis will be conducted to quantitatively synthesize the findings of the included studies and calculate effect sizes to determine the overall impact of telehealth services on patient outcomes. Subgroup analyses will be performed to explore potential moderators of the intervention effects, such as patient demographics, intervention characteristics, and study design.
