Exploring the Impact of Telehealth on Chronic Disease Management in Elderly Patients

Project Abstract

This research study aims to investigate the impact of telehealth on chronic disease management in elderly patients. The use of telehealth technologies has gained significant attention in recent years as a potential solution to improve healthcare access and outcomes, particularly for vulnerable populations such as the elderly with chronic diseases. This study will explore the effectiveness and challenges of implementing telehealth interventions in managing chronic conditions among elderly patients. The research will be structured into five main chapters. Chapter One will provide an introduction to the topic, background of the study, problem statement, objectives of the study, limitations, scope, significance, structure of the research, and definition of terms. Chapter Two will present a comprehensive literature review covering ten key areas related to telehealth, chronic disease management, elderly patient care, technology acceptance, and healthcare outcomes. Chapter Three will outline the research methodology, including the research design, sampling strategy, data collection methods, data analysis techniques, ethical considerations, and limitations of the study. The methodology will be designed to gather insights from healthcare providers, elderly patients, and telehealth experts to understand their perspectives on telehealth implementation for chronic disease management. In Chapter Four, the findings of the research will be discussed in detail. This chapter will present the analysis of data collected from interviews, surveys, and relevant literature to explore the impact of telehealth on chronic disease management in elderly patients. The discussion will highlight the benefits, challenges, and potential barriers to telehealth adoption in this population. Lastly, Chapter Five will provide a conclusion and summary of the research findings.
