Project Abstract

The prevalence of cardiovascular diseases (CVD) continues to be a major health concern globally, with dietary habits playing a significant role in their development and progression. Plant-based diets have gained attention for their potential benefits in reducing the risk of CVD due to their high content of fiber, antioxidants, and various phytochemicals. This research aimed to investigate the impact of plant-based diets on cardiovascular health in adults through a comprehensive review of existing literature, analysis of dietary patterns, and exploration of potential mechanisms involved. The study conducted a systematic review of ten key research articles focusing on the relationship between plant-based diets and cardiovascular health outcomes. The literature review revealed consistent evidence supporting the protective effects of plant-based diets against CVD risk factors such as hypertension, dyslipidemia, and inflammation.
