Project Abstract

This research project investigates the causes, dynamics, and international responses to the Rwandan Genocide of 1994. Through an interdisciplinary approach, including historical analysis, political science, and international relations perspectives, the project seeks to understand the complex factors that led to one of the most devastating episodes of mass violence in recent history. The research methodology includes archival research, oral histories, and case studies to elucidate the events leading up to the genocide, the mechanisms of violence, and the roles played by various actors, both domestic and international, in the perpetration and prevention of genocide.
