Project Abstract
This research project aims to investigate the therapeutic effects of group counseling on the study habit problems of secondary school students. Study habits play a crucial role in determining students' academic success, and poor study habits can lead to lower academic performance, increased stress, and decreased motivation. Group counseling is a form of therapy that allows students to work together in a supportive environment to address their study habit problems. The study will involve a sample of secondary school students who have been identified as having study habit problems, such as poor time management, lack of organization, procrastination, and difficulty concentrating. These students will participate in a group counseling intervention that focuses on improving study habits through various techniques such as goal setting, time management skills, and stress management strategies. The research will utilize both qualitative and quantitative methods to assess the impact of group counseling on the study habits of the students. Pre and post-intervention assessments will be conducted to measure changes in study habits, academic performance, stress levels, and motivation. Additionally, focus group interviews will be conducted to gather in-depth insights into the students' experiences with group counseling and the perceived benefits of the intervention. It is hypothesized that group counseling will have a positive therapeutic effect on the study habit problems of secondary school students. By providing a supportive and collaborative environment, group counseling can help students develop effective study habits, improve their academic performance, and enhance their overall well-being. The findings of this research project have the potential to inform school counselors, educators, and policymakers about the benefits of incorporating group counseling into secondary school settings to support students' academic success and well-being.
