Project Abstract
This research project aims to investigate the attitudes and practices of female secondary school students towards family planning in selected schools. The study will focus on understanding the perceptions, knowledge, and behaviors of young girls regarding family planning methods and services. The research will be conducted through surveys and interviews with female students to gather insights into their awareness of family planning, sources of information, and the factors influencing their attitudes towards contraception. The findings of this study are expected to provide valuable information on the level of awareness and utilization of family planning services among female secondary school students. By exploring the attitudes and practices of young girls towards family planning, the research seeks to identify potential barriers and challenges that may affect their access to reproductive health services. Understanding the factors that shape the attitudes of female students towards family planning can help in developing targeted interventions and educational programs to promote healthy reproductive behaviors and choices. The research will also examine the role of schools, families, and healthcare providers in influencing the attitudes of female students towards family planning. By investigating the sources of information and support available to young girls, the study aims to assess the effectiveness of current educational initiatives and communication strategies related to reproductive health. The findings will contribute to the existing literature on adolescent reproductive health and inform policymakers and healthcare providers on the specific needs and preferences of female students regarding family planning services. Overall, this research project seeks to shed light on the attitudes and practices of female secondary school students towards family planning and contribute to the development of effective strategies for promoting reproductive health among young girls. By addressing the knowledge gaps and misconceptions surrounding family planning, the study aims to empower female students to make informed decisions about their sexual and reproductive health. Through collaboration with schools and healthcare providers, the research aims to advocate for comprehensive and youth-friendly reproductive health services that are responsive to the needs and rights of adolescent girls.
