Project Abstract

The rapid urbanization and population growth in recent decades have led to a significant increase in environmental pollution, particularly in urban areas. Waste management policies play a crucial role in mitigating this pollution and ensuring sustainable development. This research project aims to assess the effectiveness of waste management policies in reducing environmental pollution in urban areas. The study will focus on evaluating the implementation and impact of existing waste management policies, identifying challenges and limitations, and proposing recommendations for improvement. The research will employ a mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative data analysis and qualitative case studies. A comprehensive literature review will provide a theoretical framework for understanding waste management policies and their impact on environmental pollution. The study will also include a survey of waste management practices and policies in selected urban areas, as well as interviews with key stakeholders such as government officials, waste management professionals, and community representatives. The findings of this research are expected to contribute to the existing body of knowledge on waste management policies and environmental pollution in urban areas. By evaluating the effectiveness of current policies and identifying areas for improvement, this study aims to provide valuable insights for policymakers, urban planners, and environmental practitioners.
