Project Abstract

Overpopulation is a critical issue facing the College of Education, Ekiadolor-Benin, with a significant impact on the quality of education and overall student experience. This research aims to explore the problems associated with overpopulation in this educational institution to better understand the challenges and potential solutions. The study will utilize a mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative data analysis with qualitative surveys and interviews to gather comprehensive insights. The quantitative analysis will focus on student enrollment numbers over the past decade, identifying trends and patterns of overpopulation. Additionally, qualitative surveys will be distributed to students, faculty, and staff to gather opinions and experiences related to the issue. Preliminary findings suggest that overpopulation in the College of Education, Ekiadolor-Benin, has led to overcrowded classrooms, limited resources, and increased competition among students. These factors have resulted in a decline in the quality of education, with overcrowded classrooms making it difficult for students to engage actively in learning activities. Furthermore, limited resources such as textbooks, laboratory equipment, and library facilities have hindered students' academic performance and overall learning experience. Through qualitative surveys and interviews, this research aims to delve deeper into the personal experiences and perspectives of stakeholders within the institution. By understanding the challenges faced by students, faculty, and staff, the study seeks to identify potential solutions to address the problems of overpopulation effectively. The implications of this research are significant for the College of Education, Ekiadolor-Benin, as well as other educational institutions facing similar challenges. By highlighting the problems associated with overpopulation, this study aims to raise awareness and initiate discussions on the importance of implementing strategic measures to manage student population growth effectively. Overall, this research contributes to the existing literature on overpopulation in educational institutions and provides valuable insights for policymakers, administrators, and educators. By addressing the problems of overpopulation in the College of Education, Ekiadolor-Benin, this study aims to improve the quality of education and enhance the overall student experience in the institution.
