The relationship between oral health and diabetes

Project Abstract

<p> This research project aims to investigate the bidirectional relationship between oral health and diabetes. There is growing evidence suggesting that individuals with diabetes are at a higher risk of developing periodontal disease, and that periodontal inflammation may have adverse effects on glycemic control. This study will review existing literature on the topic and explore potential mechanisms underlying this relationship. Additionally, the study will assess the impact of periodontal therapy on glycemic control in diabetic patients. The findings of this research could have implications for integrated approaches to diabetes and oral health management. <br></p>
