This research aims to explore how these practices violate justice and human rights in the country. The use of torture by law enforcement agencies during interrogations not only violates international human rights standards but also undermines the credibility of evidence obtained through such means. Additionally, the deplorable conditions in police cells contribute to the violation of detainees' rights and dignity. The lack of proper oversight and accountability mechanisms further exacerbates these issues, resulting in a system that is rife with abuse and injustice. By examining the root causes and consequences of torture and the police cell system in Nigeria, this research seeks to raise awareness about these violations and advocate for reforms that uphold the principles of justice and respect for human rights in the criminal investigation process.
