Project Abstract

Maritime security is a critical aspect of global trade and transportation, with ports serving as key nodes in the supply chain. Information and Communications Technology (ICT) applications have become essential tools in enhancing maritime security measures. This research project focuses on assessing maritime security with a specific emphasis on ICT application at Rivers Port as a case study. The study employs a mixed-method approach to investigate the current maritime security practices at Rivers Port and evaluate the effectiveness of ICT applications in enhancing security measures. Through interviews with port authorities, security personnel, and ICT experts, as well as on-site observations, the research aims to identify the strengths and weaknesses of existing security protocols.
