This study examines the relationship between social media usage and juvenile delinquency rates in urban areas, aiming to identify how various platforms influence youth behaviors and criminal activities. Juvenile delinquency remains a pressing concern in urban settings, with social media increasingly cited as both a tool for positive engagement and a catalyst for negative behaviors. The research seeks to understand whether exposure to certain online environments correlates with higher incidences of delinquent acts among adolescents, and if so, through what mechanisms such influences operate. The study employs a mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative surveys of juvenile populations in selected urban centers with qualitative interviews involving law enforcement officials, educators, parents, and the youths themselves. A sample of 500 adolescents aged 12-19 was surveyed to assess their social media habits, peer influences, online behaviors, and involvement in delinquent acts. Additionally, in-depth interviews and focus group discussions provided contextual insights into the digital environments these youths engage with.
