Project Abstract
The cement delivery record system is a vital component in the construction industry to efficiently manage and track the delivery of cement to various construction sites. This research project aims to design and implement a digital system that automates the process of recording and monitoring cement deliveries. The system will be developed to record important information such as delivery date, time, quantity, supplier details, and destination site. By utilizing technologies such as RFID tagging, GPS tracking, and cloud-based storage, the system will provide real-time updates on the status of each delivery, ensuring transparency and accuracy in the record-keeping process. The implementation of the cement delivery record system is expected to streamline operations for both cement suppliers and construction companies. Suppliers will benefit from improved inventory management, better delivery scheduling, and reduced paperwork. Construction companies will have access to up-to-date information on their cement deliveries, allowing for better project planning and cost management. Moreover, the system will enhance communication between suppliers and construction sites, enabling timely adjustments to delivery schedules and quantities as needed. The research will involve a thorough analysis of the current cement delivery process and the identification of key requirements for the new system. The system will be designed to be user-friendly, intuitive, and adaptable to different types of construction projects. Security measures will be implemented to protect the integrity of the data and ensure confidentiality. Additionally, data analytics tools will be integrated into the system to provide valuable insights and performance metrics for both suppliers and construction companies. The success of the cement delivery record system will be evaluated based on its effectiveness in improving delivery efficiency, reducing errors, and enhancing overall project management. Feedback will be collected from users to identify areas for further enhancement and optimization. Overall, the implementation of this digital system is expected to revolutionize the way cement deliveries are managed in the construction industry, leading to increased productivity, cost savings, and customer satisfaction.

INTRODUCTION

1.0 Introduction

Delivery is the act through which goods produced are transferred from the production area to the final consumer through different channels. It ensure that people will be able to obtain production when and where needed; it involves the actual movement of product as well as their ownership. To the ultimate consumers processing of any Nigeria company especially Dangote Cement help save difficulties encountered during the delivery of the final product.

The general process of cement delivery is one of the four elements of marketing.

1.1 Theoretical Background

Dangote Cement plc founded 1992 is a publicly traded cement manufacturer headquartered in Lagos Nigeria. The company is engaged in the manufacturing, preparing, exporting, packaging and delivery of cement and related products in Nigeria, west, east and South Africa.

Dangote Cement plc was formally known as “Obajana Cement plc” in July 2010. Obajana Cement plc was incorporated in 1992. Dangote is a subsidiary of Dangote Industries limited and is the largest company traded on Nigeria Stock exchange with three cement plant in: Kogii State, Ibese in Ogun state and Benue State.

1.2 Statement of the Problem

The following are the problems encountered in the existing system:

Difficulties in keeping record of cement delivery.

Inability to quickly retrieve reports pertaining to cement delivery.

It is difficult to update cement delivery record

Errors in record keeping due to missing information pertaining cement delivery.

Manual method of record keeping is tedious.

1.3 Aim and Objectives of the Study

The aim of this research work is design and implementation of a cement delivery record system for Dangote Company distributor with the following objectives:

To develop a system that will aid management of cement delivery records.

To create a system that will aid management of cement delivery records.

To create a system that will aid in the search/update of cement delivery record.

To develop a system that will aid querying of the database record by date of delivery or purchase.

1.4 Significance of the Study

Provide benefit in controlling cost and meeting customer services demands.

Offset the cost of inventory control, which could be much more costly.

It serves as an information bank.

It benefit in securing financial transaction information of the company

1.5 Scope of the Study

The scope of the research work is on cement delivery record system. The program focuses on the delivery record system of a cement using computer system. The study uses Dangote Cement plc Distrubutor Ikot Ekpene as its case study. dangote is the major producer and deliverer of cement and other products and the delivery is being carried out in large quantities.

1.6 Organization of the Research

This research work is organized into five chapters.

Chapter one gives a general introduction, theoretical background, statement of the problem, aim and objectives of the study, significance of the study, scope of the study, organization of the research and definition of terms.

Chapter two gives the introduction and literature review of the research.

Chapter three deals with system analysis and design which handle introduction, , research methodology , system analysis, analysis of the existing system , analysis of the proposed system, advantages of the proposed system, disadvantages of the proposed system, system design, input layout, program flowchart and output format.

Chapter four is the system implementation and documentation which handles introduction, system design diagram, choice of programming language, analysis of modules, programming environment, hardware requirements, software requirements, implementation.

Chapter five deals with introduction, constraints of the study, summary, conclusion and recommendations are provided in this chapter based on the study carried out.

1.7 Definition of Terms

Cement: This is a powdered material which develops strong adhesive qualities when combined with water which is used in building and all construction works.

Production: Production refers to the process of combining natural or raw materials to form a particular product which could be used in making other things for consumption.

Delivery: This refers to the process of taking the finished product to various locations for it to reach the consumers. It system by whuch products are transferred from the production area to the final consumer through different channels. Delivery started when the idea of producing goods come up, if goods are produced without being sold, it becomes a waste of time, money, resources.

Inventory: Inventory is the process of keeping record of everything that is going on in the company.

Truck: This is an open railway vehicle for carrying goods to different locations.

Plants: It is a factory or place where goods are produced or an industrial process takes place.

Record: A set of related fields in a table that provide information about an entity.

Unit Price: The selling price of one unit of product
