Project Abstract

Small-scale enterprises play a significant role in the economy of many countries, particularly in developing nations. However, these enterprises face various challenges in terms of management that can hinder their growth and sustainability. This research project aims to explore the problem of managing small-scale enterprises and identify key issues that affect their success. The study will utilize a mixed-methods approach, combining qualitative interviews with small business owners and managers with quantitative data analysis of financial and operational performance. By gathering data from multiple sources, this research seeks to provide a comprehensive understanding of the challenges faced by small-scale enterprises in managing their operations effectively. One of the main issues identified in the literature is the lack of access to financial resources and limited financial management skills among small business owners. This often leads to cash flow problems, inability to invest in growth opportunities, and overall financial instability. Additionally, inadequate marketing strategies and limited market access can further constrain the growth potential of small enterprises. Another critical aspect of managing small-scale enterprises is human resource management. Many small businesses struggle with hiring and retaining qualified employees, providing adequate training and development opportunities, and creating a positive work culture. These challenges can impact productivity, employee morale, and ultimately the success of the business. Furthermore, the research will investigate the impact of external factors such as government policies, economic conditions, and competition on the management of small-scale enterprises. Understanding how these external forces influence business operations is crucial for developing effective management strategies that can help small businesses navigate challenges and seize opportunities for growth. In conclusion, managing small-scale enterprises is a complex and multifaceted issue that requires a comprehensive approach. By identifying and addressing the key challenges faced by small businesses, this research project aims to provide valuable insights that can inform policy decisions, support business development initiatives, and ultimately contribute to the sustainability and growth of small-scale enterprises in the global economy.
