Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) has become a critical aspect of organizational operations in contemporary business environments. This study examines the impact of CSR on the organizational performance of Zenith Bank Nigeria Plc. The research employs a mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative analysis of financial data and qualitative exploration of CSR initiatives and their effects. The quantitative analysis involves evaluating financial performance indicators such as profitability, return on investment, and market share growth in relation to the implementation of CSR activities by Zenith Bank. The study finds a positive correlation between CSR activities and financial performance, indicating that a strong focus on CSR can contribute to improved organizational performance. In addition to financial metrics, the qualitative analysis delves into the specific CSR initiatives undertaken by Zenith Bank, including community development projects, environmental sustainability efforts, and employee welfare programs. Through interviews with key stakeholders within the organization, the study highlights the perceived benefits of these CSR activities on employee morale, brand reputation, and stakeholder relationships. Furthermore, the research explores the role of CSR in enhancing customer loyalty and attracting socially conscious investors. By aligning CSR initiatives with the values and expectations of customers and investors, Zenith Bank can strengthen its competitive position in the market and build long-term relationships with key stakeholders. Overall, the findings of this study underscore the importance of CSR as a strategic tool for enhancing organizational performance. By integrating CSR into its core business strategy, Zenith Bank can create shared value for both the company and society at large. The study concludes with recommendations for Zenith Bank to further leverage its CSR efforts to drive sustainable growth, foster innovation, and maintain a competitive edge in the dynamic Nigerian banking sector. In conclusion, this research contributes to the growing body of literature on the link between CSR and organizational performance, offering valuable insights for both scholars and practitioners. It highlights the significance of CSR in driving financial success, improving stakeholder relationships, and fostering a positive corporate image. The study also provides a practical framework for other organizations seeking to enhance their performance through strategic CSR initiatives.
Project Overview

STATEMENT OF PROBLEM
Most organizations do not see reason in given back to the society a little of their profit. Hence, some organizations including banks see no reason why they should involve themselves in Corporate Social Responsibility. This has created a problem in the environment where they operate, because many banks see the programme of CSR as an onerous task.
Taking deposits, granting loans and providing complementary services which could and would yield profitable returns are the core business of banks in whatever kinds of countries, whatever kinds of culture, and whatever kinds of business environments. However, the trend in social responsibility is increasingly adopted by banks to respond to the need of the society within which it operates and to be responsible for meeting the expectations of their customers and other stakeholders in a socially responsible way. Thus, perceived drawbacks on this practice could be on the amount of capital that has to be devoted in solving society’s needs and meeting up with their expectations.
Again, this trend may be viewed as a drift from the main focus of banks as profit making institutions to charitable organizations. However, there is need to battle with this wrong notion and orientation to accepting CSR programs as a necessity and an unavoidable option to modern day Banks knowing that they are not operating in a vacuum but within the society and as such should reciprocate by meeting some of her expectations.

1.3 OBJECTIVES OF THE STUDY
The general objective of this research work is to determine the Impact of Corporate Social Responsibility on Organizational Performance of Zenith Bank Nigeria Plc.
