Project Abstract

ABSTRACT This research project examines the issue of administrative stress and its impact on modern managers in private business organizations, using Hallmark Bank Enugu as a case study. The study aims to investigate the sources of administrative stress faced by managers in the contemporary business environment, as well as the strategies employed by managers to cope with and mitigate these stressors. The research methodology involves a mixed-methods approach, combining both qualitative and quantitative data collection techniques. Data will be gathered through interviews, surveys, and observation of managerial activities within Hallmark Bank Enugu. The qualitative data will be analyzed thematically to identify common sources of administrative stress, while the quantitative data will be analyzed using statistical tools to determine the prevalence and intensity of these stressors. The findings of the study are expected to shed light on the specific challenges faced by modern managers in private business organizations, with a focus on the banking sector. By identifying the key sources of administrative stress, the study will contribute to a better understanding of the factors that contribute to managerial burnout and reduced job satisfaction. Furthermore, the research will explore the coping mechanisms and strategies employed by managers to deal with administrative stress, including time management techniques, delegation of tasks, and stress management practices. Understanding how managers navigate and mitigate administrative stress can provide valuable insights for organizational leaders seeking to improve the well-being and performance of their managerial staff. The implications of the study extend to both theoretical and practical domains. Theoretically, the research will contribute to the existing literature on occupational stress and managerial psychology, by providing empirical evidence on the specific challenges faced by modern managers in private business organizations. Practically, the findings of the study can inform the development of targeted interventions and support programs to help managers effectively cope with administrative stress and improve their overall job satisfaction and performance. Ultimately, the research aims to enhance the well-being and effectiveness of managers in private business organizations, with potential benefits for both individual managers and the organizations in which they operate.
