Recruitment, selection, and placement procedures in the Imo state civil service system are essential components in ensuring the efficiency and effectiveness of the workforce. The study will utilize a mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative and qualitative techniques to gather data. The quantitative aspect will involve survey questionnaires distributed to employees within the civil service system, focusing on their perceptions of the current recruitment, selection, and placement procedures. On the other hand, the qualitative aspect will consist of in-depth interviews with key stakeholders such as human resource managers, recruitment officers, and government officials responsible for overseeing the civil service system in Imo state. Several problems are expected to be identified during the research process. This may involve recommendations for implementing merit-based recruitment practices, enhancing transparency in the selection process, and investing in training and development programs to ensure employees are effectively placed in roles that align with their skills and expertise. The findings of this study are expected to provide valuable insights for policymakers, civil service administrators, and other relevant stakeholders in Imo state. By identifying the key problems and potential areas for improvement in the recruitment, selection, and placement procedures, this research can contribute to enhancing the overall performance and productivity of the civil service system in the state. In conclusion, the research on recruitment, selection, and placement procedures in the Imo state civil service system represents a critical examination of the current practices and their impact on workforce efficiency.
