Project Abstract

<p> This project aims to study the role of plant secondary metabolites in plant-plant competition. Plant secondary metabolites are chemical compounds produced by plants that play diverse roles in ecological interactions. However, their specific functions in plant-plant competition are not well understood. This project will involve conducting greenhouse experiments to assess the effects of secondary metabolites on competitive interactions between plant species. The metabolite profiles of competing plants will be analyzed, and their effects on growth, resource allocation, and allelopathy will be evaluated.
