Project Abstract

<p> This project aims to study the effects of different plant hormones on plant senescence. Senescence is a complex physiological process that involves the programmed degradation and dismantling of plant tissues, leading to the death of individual organs or the whole plant. Plant hormones play important roles in regulating senescence, either promoting or delaying the onset of this process. By investigating the effects of different hormones on senescence, we can gain insights into the molecular mechanisms underlying this process and potentially develop strategies for manipulating senescence to improve crop productivity and post-harvest quality. The project will involve treating plants with different hormones, monitoring senescence-related parameters such as leaf yellowing, chlorophyll degradation, and nutrient remobilization, and analyzing the data to determine the effects of each hormone on senescence. The findings of this study will contribute to our understanding of hormone-mediated senescence regulation and may have practical implications for agriculture and horticulture. <br></p>
