Project Abstract

<p> This project aims to investigate the effects of different plant breeding techniques on disease resistance in crops. Plant diseases pose a significant threat to global food security, and breeding disease-resistant crop varieties is an effective strategy for sustainable disease management. This study will compare traditional breeding methods, such as selective breeding and hybridization, with modern techniques, including marker-assisted selection and genetic engineering, in terms of their effectiveness in enhancing disease resistance. The project will involve the evaluation of disease resistance traits in different crop varieties using controlled inoculation experiments and molecular markers. The findings will provide valuable insights into the potential of different breeding techniques for developing disease-resistant crops. <br></p>
