Analyzing the role of plant cell wall composition in plant defense

Project Abstract

<p> This project aims to analyze the role of plant cell wall composition in plant defense against pathogens and herbivores. The plant cell wall is a complex structure composed of various polysaccharides, proteins, and phenolic compounds, which provide physical and chemical barriers against external threats. By conducting biochemical analyses and genetic studies, we will investigate the relationship between cell wall composition and plant resistance to pathogens and herbivores. Additionally, we will examine the expression patterns of genes involved in cell wall biosynthesis and modification in response to biotic stress. The findings of this study will enhance our understanding of the molecular mechanisms underlying plant defense and may have implications for crop improvement strategies. <br></p>
