Project Abstract

Implementation issues in senior secondary education curriculum have been a topic of concern in many educational systems globally. This research aims to explore the challenges faced in implementing the senior secondary education curriculum and to propose possible solutions to address these issues. The study will utilize a mixed-methods approach, incorporating both quantitative and qualitative data collection methods. Surveys will be conducted among teachers, school administrators, and education policymakers to gather information on their perspectives regarding the implementation of the senior secondary education curriculum. In addition, focus group discussions and interviews will be carried out to delve deeper into the specific challenges faced by stakeholders in the implementation process. One of the key implementation issues identified in the literature is the lack of alignment between the curriculum and the needs of students and the job market. This study will investigate the extent to which the senior secondary education curriculum prepares students for further education or the workforce. By examining the relevance and suitability of the curriculum content, the research aims to provide insights into potential areas for improvement. Another significant challenge in the implementation of the senior secondary education curriculum is the availability of resources and infrastructure. The study will assess the adequacy of facilities, teaching materials, and other resources necessary for effective curriculum delivery. By identifying resource gaps and constraints, the research seeks to propose strategies to enhance resource allocation and utilization in senior secondary schools. Furthermore, the research will explore the role of teacher training and professional development in curriculum implementation. By examining the preparedness of teachers to deliver the curriculum effectively, the study aims to highlight the importance of continuous training and support for educators. Recommendations will be made to enhance teacher capacity and ensure better implementation of the senior secondary education curriculum. Overall, this research seeks to contribute to the existing literature on curriculum implementation in senior secondary education. By identifying key challenges and proposing solutions, the study aims to inform policy and practice in improving the quality of education at the senior secondary level. The findings of this research are expected to have implications for curriculum development, teacher training, resource allocation, and overall educational quality in senior secondary schools.

It discussed the concept curriculum implementation.</p><p>It enumerated the objectives of secondary education as indicated in National Policy on Education. Implementation issues in the new senior secondary education curriculum were highlighted and discussed. The prospects were pointed out and its implication for Nigeria’s cultural policy itemized.</p><p>Recommendations were made such as the facilities and ICT equipment necessary for effective implementation of the new curriculum should be adequately provided in schools and government should provide adequate number of qualified subject teachers to handle effectively all the new subjects.</p></div><h3></h3><br> <br><p></p>
