The Impact of Feed Additives on Broiler Chicken Growth Performance and Gut Health

Project Abstract

The poultry industry plays a crucial role in providing a sustainable source of protein for human consumption. In recent years, there has been a growing interest in the use of feed additives to improve broiler chicken growth performance and gut health. This study aimed to investigate the impact of feed additives on broiler chicken growth performance and gut health. The research was conducted over a period of six months, involving a total of 300 broiler chickens. The study design included a control group fed with a standard diet and three experimental groups fed with diets supplemented with different types of feed additives. Various parameters were measured, including body weight gain, feed intake, feed conversion ratio, gut morphology, and gut microbial composition. The results of the study revealed that the inclusion of feed additives in the diets of broiler chickens had a significant impact on growth performance and gut health. Broilers fed with certain feed additives showed improved body weight gain, better feed efficiency, and enhanced gut morphology compared to the control group. Additionally, analysis of gut microbial composition indicated a positive modulation of the gut microbiota in birds receiving feed additives. The findings of this study suggest that the incorporation of specific feed additives in broiler chicken diets can positively influence growth performance and gut health. These results have important implications for the poultry industry, as they provide valuable insights into strategies for optimizing broiler production efficiency and health. In conclusion, the utilization of feed additives in broiler chicken diets offers a promising approach to enhance growth performance and gut health. Further research is warranted to explore the mechanisms underlying the observed effects and to optimize the use of feed additives in poultry production. This study contributes to the growing body of knowledge on the application of feed additives in poultry nutrition and underscores their potential benefits in improving broiler chicken welfare and productivity.
