Effects of Probiotics on Gut Health in Poultry Production

Project Abstract

The use of probiotics in animal production, particularly in poultry farming, has gained significant attention in recent years due to its potential to enhance gut health and improve overall performance. This research project aims to investigate the effects of probiotics on gut health in poultry production. The study will focus on evaluating the impact of probiotic supplementation on gut microbiota composition, immune response, nutrient absorption, and growth performance of poultry birds. The research will be conducted using a randomized controlled trial design, with a total of 200 broiler chickens allocated to two treatment groups a probiotic-supplemented group and a control group. Various parameters, including gut microbiota diversity, inflammatory markers, nutrient digestibility, body weight gain, and feed conversion ratio, will be assessed at different time points throughout the study period. In the literature review, the project will explore previous studies related to probiotics in poultry farming, focusing on their mechanisms of action, benefits, and optimal dosage and administration methods. The research methodology will detail the experimental design, sample collection procedures, probiotic supplementation protocol, and analytical techniques to be used for data analysis.
