Effects of Different Feeding Strategies on Growth Performance of Broiler Chickens

Project Abstract

The poultry industry plays a significant role in meeting the growing demand for animal protein worldwide. One key aspect of poultry production is the feeding strategy employed, as it directly impacts the growth performance and overall health of broiler chickens. This research project aimed to investigate the effects of different feeding strategies on the growth performance of broiler chickens. The study was conducted over a period of 12 weeks, during which broiler chickens were subjected to three distinct feeding strategies a control group fed a standard commercial diet, a group fed an organic diet, and a group fed a diet supplemented with probiotics. The growth performance of the chickens was assessed by measuring parameters such as body weight gain, feed intake, feed conversion ratio, and mortality rate. The results of the study indicated that the feeding strategy had a significant impact on the growth performance of the broiler chickens. Chickens fed the organic diet showed the highest body weight gain and the lowest feed conversion ratio, suggesting that organic feed may have a positive effect on growth. Additionally, the group fed the diet supplemented with probiotics exhibited improved feed efficiency and lower mortality rates compared to the control group. However, it is important to note that the study also identified certain limitations, such as variations in environmental conditions and genetic factors, which may have influenced the results. The scope of the study was limited to the evaluation of growth performance, and further research is needed to explore the long-term effects of different feeding strategies on broiler health and product quality. Overall, this research project provides valuable insights into the effects of different feeding strategies on the growth performance of broiler chickens. The findings highlight the potential benefits of organic feed and probiotic supplementation in improving growth performance and feed efficiency. These results have practical implications for poultry producers seeking to optimize the nutritional management of broiler chickens for sustainable and efficient production.
