Effects of Different Feeding Strategies on Growth Performance of Broiler Chickens

Project Abstract

The poultry industry plays a crucial role in meeting the increasing global demand for animal protein. Among poultry species, broiler chickens are particularly important due to their rapid growth rate and efficient feed conversion. Feeding strategies have a significant impact on the growth performance of broiler chickens, influencing factors such as weight gain, feed efficiency, and overall health. This study aimed to investigate the effects of different feeding strategies on the growth performance of broiler chickens. The research was conducted over a period of six months, during which a total of 300 broiler chickens were divided into three groups Group A received a standard commercial diet, Group B received a diet supplemented with probiotics, and Group C received a diet supplemented with herbal extracts. The growth performance of the chickens was monitored by measuring parameters such as body weight, feed intake, and feed conversion ratio. The results of the study revealed significant differences in growth performance among the three groups. Broiler chickens in Group B, which received the diet supplemented with probiotics, showed the highest average body weight and the best feed conversion ratio compared to the other groups. Group C, which received the diet supplemented with herbal extracts, also showed improved growth performance compared to Group A, the control group. In addition to growth performance, the study also assessed the impact of different feeding strategies on the health and immunity of the broiler chickens. Blood samples were collected from the chickens to analyze parameters such as antibody titers and immune cell counts. The findings indicated that the chickens in Group B and Group C had higher antibody titers and stronger immune responses compared to those in the control group. Overall, this research highlights the importance of feeding strategies in optimizing the growth performance and health of broiler chickens. The results suggest that supplementing the diet with probiotics or herbal extracts can improve growth performance and enhance immune function in broiler chickens. These findings have practical implications for the poultry industry, providing valuable insights into the development of effective feeding strategies to maximize the productivity and well-being of broiler chickens.
