Effects of different feeding strategies on growth performance of broiler chickens

Project Abstract

The poultry industry plays a crucial role in providing a sustainable source of protein for human consumption. In this study, the effects of different feeding strategies on the growth performance of broiler chickens were investigated. The aim was to evaluate how varying feeding approaches impact the growth rates, feed conversion efficiency, and overall performance of broiler chickens. The study involved a comparative analysis of three distinct feeding strategies a traditional commercial feed, an organic feed, and a custom-formulated feed. A total of 300 broiler chickens were randomly assigned to three treatment groups, with each group receiving a different feeding strategy throughout the study period. The chickens were monitored daily for growth parameters such as body weight gain, feed intake, and feed conversion ratio. The results indicated that the feeding strategy had a significant impact on the growth performance of the broiler chickens. Chickens fed with the custom-formulated feed demonstrated the highest growth rates and best feed conversion efficiency, followed by those on the commercial feed, while the organic feed resulted in the lowest growth performance. These findings suggest that the composition and quality of the feed play a crucial role in determining the growth and development of broiler chickens. Furthermore, the study identified several factors that may influence the effectiveness of different feeding strategies, including nutrient content, feed processing methods, and environmental conditions. The limitations of the study included the sample size and duration of the experiment, which may have affected the generalizability of the results. In conclusion, the findings of this study highlight the importance of selecting appropriate feeding strategies to optimize the growth performance of broiler chickens. By understanding the effects of different feeds on chicken growth, producers can make informed decisions to enhance the efficiency and sustainability of poultry production. Future research should focus on exploring additional feeding strategies and their long-term effects on broiler performance to further improve poultry farming practices.
