Effects of different feeding regimes on growth performance and nutrient utilization in broiler chickens

Project Abstract

The poultry industry plays a crucial role in meeting the growing demand for animal protein worldwide. The efficiency of broiler production is heavily influenced by various factors, with nutrition being a key determinant of growth performance and nutrient utilization. This study aimed to investigate the effects of different feeding regimes on growth performance and nutrient utilization in broiler chickens. The research was conducted over a period of 12 weeks, during which broiler chickens were assigned to different feeding groups based on their dietary composition. Growth performance parameters such as body weight gain, feed intake, and feed conversion ratio were measured regularly throughout the study. Nutrient utilization was assessed by analyzing nutrient digestibility and metabolic parameters in the chickens. The results revealed significant differences in growth performance among the different feeding regimes. Broilers fed a high-protein diet exhibited higher body weight gain and improved feed conversion ratio compared to those on a low-protein diet. Similarly, differences in nutrient utilization were observed, with chickens on specific feeding regimes showing better digestibility of key nutrients such as protein, fat, and minerals. The findings of this study have significant implications for the poultry industry, highlighting the importance of optimal nutrition in maximizing growth performance and nutrient utilization in broiler chickens. By understanding the effects of different feeding regimes on these parameters, producers can make informed decisions to enhance the efficiency and profitability of broiler production systems.
