Project Abstract

The poultry industry plays a crucial role in meeting the growing demand for animal protein worldwide. In this context, optimizing the growth performance of broiler chickens is essential to ensure efficient production and profitability. The present study aimed to investigate the effect of different feeding strategies on the growth performance of broiler chickens. The research was conducted over a period of 12 weeks, involving a total of 300 broiler chickens randomly allocated to three dietary treatment groups a control group fed a standard commercial diet, a group fed an experimental high-protein diet, and a group fed an experimental low-protein diet. The growth performance parameters assessed included body weight gain, feed intake, feed conversion ratio, and mortality rate. Results indicated that broiler chickens fed the high-protein diet exhibited significantly higher body weight gain compared to those in the control and low-protein diet groups. Additionally, the feed conversion ratio was more favorable in the high-protein diet group, indicating improved feed efficiency. However, no significant differences were observed in feed intake and mortality rate among the treatment groups. Furthermore, the study explored the economic implications of the different feeding strategies, considering the cost of feed and the potential benefits in terms of growth performance. The findings suggest that while the high-protein diet may lead to better growth outcomes, the increased cost of feed formulation should be carefully weighed against the benefits to optimize profitability. In conclusion, the results of this study highlight the importance of selecting appropriate feeding strategies to enhance the growth performance of broiler chickens. Understanding the impact of dietary composition on key performance indicators can help poultry producers make informed decisions to optimize production efficiency and economic returns.
