Project Abstract

This research project aims to investigate the relationship between posture and musculoskeletal pain in office workers through a cross-sectional study. The modern work environment, characterized by prolonged periods of sitting and computer use, has been associated with an increased prevalence of musculoskeletal pain, particularly in the neck, shoulders, and lower back regions. Poor posture is often identified as a contributing factor to the development of musculoskeletal pain among office workers. This study seeks to explore the extent to which posture influences the occurrence and severity of musculoskeletal pain in this population. The research will be conducted using a cross-sectional design, involving a sample of office workers from various industries. Data will be collected through self-reported questionnaires assessing posture habits, musculoskeletal pain symptoms, and demographic information. Objective measurements of posture will also be obtained using ergonomic assessment tools. Statistical analyses, including correlation and regression analyses, will be employed to examine the relationship between posture and musculoskeletal pain. Additionally, subgroup analyses based on demographic variables such as age, gender, and occupation will be conducted to identify potential risk factors. The findings of this study are expected to provide valuable insights into the relationship between posture and musculoskeletal pain among office workers. By elucidating the impact of posture on musculoskeletal health, this research can inform the development of targeted interventions and ergonomic guidelines to promote healthier work practices and reduce the burden of musculoskeletal disorders in the workplace. Ultimately, the results of this study have the potential to contribute to the enhancement of occupational health and well-being for office workers, thereby improving productivity and quality of life.
