Project Abstract
<p> </p><div>Agroforestry, the integration of trees and shrubs with crops and livestock, offers numerous environmental, economic, and social benefits. However, the adoption of sustainable agroforestry practices remains limited. This project aims to assess the role of agricultural education in promoting sustainable agroforestry practices and identify strategies to enhance the effectiveness of educational programs in this area.</div><div>The project will employ a mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative data analysis and qualitative research methods. A comprehensive literature review will be conducted to gather existing knowledge on sustainable agroforestry practices, the benefits they offer, and the role of agricultural education in promoting them.</div><div>Quantitative data will be collected through surveys administered to farmers practicing agroforestry and agricultural educators. The surveys will assess farmers' knowledge and adoption of sustainable agroforestry practices, as well as their perception of the effectiveness of agricultural education programs. Agricultural educators will be surveyed to understand the content and delivery methods of existing educational programs related to agroforestry.</div><div>Qualitative research methods, such as interviews and focus group discussions, will be conducted with a sample of farmers and agricultural educators. These qualitative data will provide insights into the barriers and facilitators of sustainable agroforestry adoption, as well as the perceived effectiveness of agricultural education in promoting sustainable practices.</div><div>The collected data will be analyzed using appropriate statistical techniques and thematic analysis. The findings will be used to assess the current state of agricultural education in promoting sustainable agroforestry practices, identify gaps in knowledge and practice, and develop recommendations for improving educational programs.</div><div>The expected outcomes of this project include a better understanding of the role of agricultural education in promoting sustainable agroforestry practices, insights into the challenges faced by farmers in adopting sustainable practices, and recommendations for enhancing educational programs.</div> <br><p></p>
