Project Abstract

<p><br>Livestock rearing plays an important role in rural livelihoods and agricultural systems in India. However, the availability and cost of animal fodder is a major constraint, especially during summer and lean periods. This project aims to develop low-cost techniques for production of fodder using locally available resources with minimal external inputs. Different fodder production methods will be evaluated under field conditions for their yield, nutritional quality, water requirements and economic viability. The most suitable low-cost fodder production models will be demonstrated to farmers for adoption.<br><br><br></p>
