This study was done to determine the roles of commercial banks in financing the agricultural sector in Enugu State. The objectives were specifically to determine the volume of loan advances on agricultural development vis-Ã -vis the contributions to agricultural productions in the state. Also considered in this study were the problems faced by the scheme in the delivery of credit to the farmers.
The required information for the realization of these objectives was gathered by the personal interviewers and some journals and publications.
Some analysis shows that the loan advanced to farmers by the scheme made. Limited impact on agricultural development, as the net additions to the supply of agricultural commodities are minimal.
The study also indicated shortage of working personal and low loan repayment rate as the major factor militating and reducing the performances of the scheme.
