Project Abstract

Financial statement analysis is a crucial tool for investors seeking to make informed investment decisions. This study focuses on the analysis of financial statements as an aid to meaningful investment decision-making, with a case study of investment firms in Enugu State. The research aims to explore how investors can utilize financial statement analysis to evaluate the financial health, performance, and prospects of investment firms in order to make effective investment decisions. The study employs a mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative analysis of financial data with qualitative assessments of investment strategies and decision-making processes. Financial ratios, trend analysis, and comparative analysis will be used to assess key financial indicators such as liquidity, profitability, solvency, and efficiency. In addition, interviews and surveys will be conducted with investment professionals to gather insights into their use of financial statement analysis in the investment decision-making process. The findings of this research are expected to provide valuable insights into the significance of financial statement analysis in guiding investment decisions. By analyzing the financial statements of investment firms in Enugu State, investors will gain a deeper understanding of the financial performance and potential risks associated with investing in these firms. This knowledge will enable investors to make more informed and strategic investment decisions that align with their financial goals and risk tolerance.
