Project Abstract

Acne vulgaris is a common skin condition that affects a significant portion of the global population, particularly during adolescence and young adulthood. The condition is characterized by the development of inflammatory lesions, such as papules, pustules, and nodules, as well as non-inflammatory lesions, like comedones. The impact of acne on an individual's physical and psychological well-being can be substantial, underscoring the need for effective management strategies. This project aims to investigate the efficacy of topical antioxidant formulations in the management of acne vulgaris. Antioxidants have emerged as a promising approach in acne treatment, as they possess the ability to modulate the underlying pathogenic mechanisms of the condition, including oxidative stress, inflammation, and bacterial growth. The study will be conducted in a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled manner, with participants randomly assigned to either a topical antioxidant treatment group or a placebo group.
