Abstract
Dental caries is a prevalent oral health issue affecting children worldwide. Among the preventive measures available, dental sealants have emerged as a promising intervention to reduce the incidence of caries in children. This research project aims to assess the effectiveness of dental sealants in preventing dental caries in children through a comprehensive investigation of existing literature, research methodology, and analysis of findings. The study begins with a thorough review of the literature on dental sealants, caries prevention strategies, and their impact on pediatric oral health. This literature review will provide a foundation for understanding the current state of knowledge in the field and highlight gaps that this research seeks to address. The research methodology section outlines the design of the study, including the population sample, data collection methods, and statistical analyses to be employed. By utilizing a combination of quantitative and qualitative approaches, this study aims to provide a robust evaluation of the effectiveness of dental sealants in preventing dental caries in children. Findings from the study are discussed in detail in chapter four, where the analysis of data and interpretation of results are presented. This discussion will explore the relationship between dental sealants and caries prevention, considering factors such as age, gender, socioeconomic status, and oral hygiene practices. In conclusion, this research project contributes to the existing body of knowledge on pediatric oral health by providing valuable insights into the effectiveness of dental sealants in preventing dental caries in children.
