Abstract
Dental caries is a prevalent oral health issue affecting a significant portion of the pediatric population worldwide. Silver diamine fluoride (SDF) has emerged as a promising agent for caries prevention and management due to its ability to arrest carious lesions. This research project aims to assess the efficacy of SDF in arresting dental caries in pediatric patients. The study will evaluate the effectiveness of SDF application in halting the progression of carious lesions and preventing further decay in children. The research methodology will involve a systematic literature review to examine existing studies on the topic, as well as a clinical study to assess the outcomes of SDF treatment in a sample of pediatric patients. Data collection will include clinical examinations, photographic documentation, and follow-up assessments to track changes in carious lesions over time. Statistical analysis will be performed to evaluate the effectiveness of SDF treatment in arresting dental caries in pediatric patients. The findings of this research project are expected to provide valuable insights into the efficacy of SDF in managing dental caries in children. The results will contribute to the existing body of knowledge on caries prevention strategies and may have implications for improving pediatric dental care practices. Ultimately, this study aims to enhance the understanding of the role of SDF in preventing and treating dental caries in pediatric patients, with the potential to positively impact oral health outcomes in this vulnerable population.
