Abstract
This research study aimed to assess the impact of oral health education on oral hygiene practices among school children. The importance of oral health education in promoting good oral hygiene practices among children cannot be overstated, as it plays a crucial role in preventing dental diseases and promoting overall health and well-being. The study was conducted with the objective of evaluating the effectiveness of oral health education programs in improving oral hygiene practices and raising awareness among school children. The research methodology involved a quantitative approach, utilizing surveys and assessments to collect data from a sample of school children who participated in oral health education programs. The data collected were analyzed using statistical methods to determine the impact of the education programs on the oral hygiene practices of the participants. The findings of the study revealed a significant improvement in oral hygiene practices among school children who received oral health education compared to those who did not. The education programs were found to increase knowledge about proper oral hygiene practices, such as regular brushing, flossing, and dental check-ups. Furthermore, the programs were effective in promoting positive attitudes towards oral health and instilling healthy habits among the children. The results of the study emphasize the importance of oral health education in schools as a preventive measure against dental diseases and oral health problems. By increasing awareness and knowledge about oral hygiene practices, children are better equipped to maintain good oral health throughout their lives. The implications of this research highlight the need for continued efforts to integrate oral health education into school curricula and promote regular dental check-ups among children. In conclusion, this research study demonstrates the positive impact of oral health education on oral hygiene practices among school children. By empowering children with the knowledge and skills to maintain good oral health, we can contribute to reducing the prevalence of dental diseases and promoting overall well-being in the younger generation. The findings of this study provide valuable insights for policymakers, educators, and healthcare professionals to prioritize oral health education as a key component of school-based health promotion programs.
